What does the tutorial change on a Rust server?

It enables Facepunch's new-player tutorial. You begin on a private island and learn gathering, crafting, building and cooking before joining the main map. Server rates, rules and wipe schedule stay the same once you finish.

Are tutorial servers good for new players?

For the first hour they are the least punishing place to learn the controls. After the island you play on the same map as everyone else. Check the Group column and tags if you want a calmer first wipe.

Do tutorial servers wipe like other Rust servers?

Yes. They follow the usual monthly, weekly or biweekly cycles. A wipe resets the map; blueprints reset only if the server chooses. Each server page carries its next wipe estimate.

Can I play with friends on a tutorial server?

The tutorial island is solo, but the main map is normal Rust. Check the Group column first: some servers cap teams at two or three, so pick one that matches your group.
